Nicholas was an infant when he first started coming to my musical play group at The Performing Arts Center at 51 Walden. Performing at his 1st birthday party was a rewarding experience. Like most 1st birthdays, especially for this family's first child, it was an occasion to celebrate the child but also the parents who have had a life changing year. There were many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and neighbors in attendance. I had a fantastic time telling stories and singing songs for an audience that spanned many generations. |
Nicholas's Morning Routine I’ve got time to myself and much to explore Widgets and gizmos and gadgets galore I take anything I find that goes beep or buzz Pick it up, turn it on. Why? Just because. Quarter past five when dawn had broke Up in his room, Nicholas woke Time to start my morning routine Pushing buttons on all machines “So rise and shine,” Nicholas said Then stretched his legs, got out of bed. Chorus He crawled across the bedroom floor Climbed a stool and opened his door Out in the house all on his own Nicholas found the telephone. “Who should I call? Speed dial eight. Ring, ding-a-ling. Isn’t this great? Chorus Hello, who is it? Nevermind I’m on the move. There’s more to find.” Up on the couch, under a coat Nicholas found an old remote “Turn the TV on. What to choose? I think I’ll watch the morning news. Chorus But Nicholas, he wasn’t done The CD player looked like fun “I’ll raise the volume just a tad It’s time to wake my Mom and Dad.” They rose at once then looked to see Nicholas playing happily. Chorus I like seeing for myself just what it does. |
