| Tim's Musical Journey Tim has been writing songs and singing with children as long as he can remember. His first regular venue was the family car on the annual summer trip from Chicago, IL to Bangor, ME with parents, older brother, and three younger sisters. In school, Tim enjoyed playing lots of sports, but he also found time to sing in the chorus and try a little bit of musical theatre. As a college student, Tim learned guitar. Each summer, he sang around the campfire as a counselor at Camp Deerhorn in Rhinelander, WI. His next step was to put his writing skills to use entertaining family at Easter scavenger hunts, at wedding parties, and at other family gatherings. Tim's mom, Louisa Page, passed away in 2002. She played an important role in fostering a love of music as well as care for others. When his children were born, Tim traded in his full time job as a high school math and science teacher, picked up the guitar, and started writing songs. Soon after, Tim became the weekly music teacher at the Milldam Cooperative Preschool in Concord, MA. He learned more songs and wrote even more. Tim spent 6 years hosting a regular drop-in music play group at The Performing Arts Center at 51 Walden. It was a great place to perfect his craft. In 2009, Tim joined the Children's Music Network - a national organization where he has met many talented individuals who sing with children. In 2013 Tim's son Luke began taking piano lessons with Anne Silverman. Tim, Luke, and Anne would often play some of Tim's songs. In 2014, Tim recorded "Here to Play" at Wellspring Studios with Eric Kilburn. Anne was among several musicians hired by Tim and Eric to play on the CD. Also in 2014, Tim joined the board of the Children's Music Network (CMN) and now travels annually to the national conference to connect with his peers. At the CMN 2015 national conference Tim wrote "To Be Kind" and "On a Roll". Both songs would be saved for his 2018 album release. At the CMN 2016 national conference Tim wrote, "Bring Someone Else Along" to be included in a compilation album called "Singing Through the Storm" In 2017 Tim went back to Wellspring Studios and began work on "On a Roll" with Eric and a team of studio musicians. The album was released in 2018. Also in the summer of 2017, Tim became the drama director at Camp Pok-O-MacCready in Willsboro, NY where he wrote his first original musical. Tim headed back to camp in 2018 with a second original musical. Then over the course of the 2018-2019 school year he worked with friend, Nivedhan Singh, to record the songs from both shows. Tim released the recordings of songs from his two original musicals "Once in a Lifetime" and "The Rock" under the title "Who I Am" on May 10th, 2019. In 2019 Tim went back to camp once more and wrote "One Way or the Other". In January of 2020 Tim took a full time teaching position and then Covid hit that March. While teaching, Tim found time to create more YouTube videos and for a while performed Facebook Live concerts with Luke Tim has much more to record, more venues to play, and more songs to write to keep him busy into the next decade. |
