Down to a Whisper Here To Play |
I end every class at the Milldam Nursery School with this song. Mouthing the words is still a favorite and the teachers appreciated that the children are quiet and ready to listen to directions for the next activity. Some years we have also added movement by standing and using our strongest singing voices. We then kneel and use a quieter voice. We then sit and whisper and finally we lie down and mouth the words. There was a funny class one year that liked to click their heels while mouthing the words. That led into all kinds of silly and random motions. |
Down to a Whisper by Tim Seston Hey everybody, we’ve got something to say This is the last song we’ll be singing today We’ll get softer and softer with each little rhyme Til we’re down to a whisper and we’ve run out of time. Repeat until everyone is down to whisper then repeat by just mouthing the words with no voice or at the end of a school or calendar year we sing: Hey everybody there is something I fear This is the last song we'll be singing all year We’ll get softer and softer with each little rhyme Til we’re down to a whisper and we’ve run out of time. |
