Time to Look Back Here To Play |
In June of 2013 I finished my 7th year at the Milldam Nursery School in Concord, MA. Three of the moms - Tracey, Kristen and Polly had children in the school ever since I first started back in September of 2006. Each was now celebrating the graduation of a youngest child. I wrote this song for all parents watching their kids grow up and head off on new adventures. As the children grow up there is time again for the parents to start new adventures of their own. Milldam hosts their annual Ducky Race at the end of each year. |
Time to Look Back by Tim Seston Walking along on the path by the shore A young mother duck took her kids out on tour. She said, "Follow me closely, I'll show you the way." But she kept looking back so her kids wouldn't stray. It's time to look back – Quack, Quack It's time to look back – Quack, Quack, Quack When your up at the front and your leading the pack The adventure's ahead but it's nice to look back With every new day she taught her kids more and more Sometimes she just watched and would let them explore Sometimes she would follow with these words of advice When you're finding your way looking back can be nice. It's time to look back – Quack, Quack It's time to look back – Quack, Quack, Quack When your up at the front and your leading the pack The adventure's ahead but it's nice to look back There are times in your life when you want to stand still And look all around from the top of the hill See what you've accomplished and what you can do It's moments like these that I'm quacking for you. Well time passed by quickly as her ducklings all grew They were off to try out something fresh, something new And the proud mother duck took a breath, gave a sigh Looked around one more time then with a wink in her eye She said, "It's time to look back – Quack, Quack It's time to look back – Quack, Quack, Quack When your up at the front and your leading the pack The adventure's ahead but it's nice to look back." |
